President's Message

My name is Sergeant Hector Lopez. Welcome to the New York Hispanic American Law Enforcement Organization (HALEO). Many of you may know me from various law enforcement organizations and community events. Currently I am a Sergeant at the Westchester County Jail. After 30 Years in Law Enforcement (including 3 years as a Lieutenant with the Greenburgh PD Auxiliary), I started my own organization. It has always been a goal of mine to start my own organization, and now we are here! Mostly I am known to police and other law enforcement agencies as someone who can solve issues between officers and their departments with common sense dialogue.
A little bit about myself, currently I am an Executive Board Member Of Westchester County Superior Officers Association (SOA) ran unopposed, Yonkers ZBA Board Member, Yonkers School Construction Board Member, member of the New York State FOP Lodge 188, former Chairman of the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation, former Vice President of the Yonkers Hispanic Federation Chamber of Commerce, current member of the Westchester County Hispanic Advisory Board. Former President of WHLEA. In 2020 named by City and State New York Magazine as Top 100 Movers and Shakers, and much more.
With New York HALEO, and together with our new Executive Board of Law Enforcement Professionals, we will bring that leadership, loyalty and dignity to this organization and the community. We will work together with similar organizations, the community, PBA's, Firefighters Organizations and we will continue to represent those who have been disenfranchised. We hope that you join us in our journey. Stay Safe.
